School Uniform at Charlwood Village Primary School

Please read below for confirmation on our school uniform. Please make sure that the correct uniform is worn at all times. So that lost clothing can also be minimised please make sure that ALL clothing is labelled.  School Uniform can be ordered directly from GOODIES.CO.UK Book bags, ties, scarfs, baseball & swimming hats can be ordered directly from the School Office.  Please find form attached and hand to the school office, with cheques made payable to Charlwood PTA UNIFORM ORDER FORM

Summer Uniform ~ (this is worn in the whole of the summer term and the first half of the autumn term)
  • Summer dresses (royal blue and white gingham)
  • White polo shirts
  • Grey trousers/shorts/skirts
  • Charlwood Primary School jumper or cardigan
In Key Stage 2 the summer uniform does not include ties or scarves, therefore these do not need to be worn.
The only item which we insist has the school logo on is the school jumper/cardigan. All other items can be purchased from large supermarkets and retailers.

Autumn/Winter Uniform ~ (this is worn in the second half of the autumn term and the whole of the spring term)
Foundation Stage / Key Stage 1 (Wren Class and Owl Class)
  • White polo shirts
  • Grey trousers/skirts/dresses
  • Charlwood Primary School jumper or cardigan

Key Stage 2 (Woodpecker Class and Red Kite Class)
  • White shirts
  • Charlwood Primary School neck scarves
  • Charlwood Primary School  ties
  • Grey trousers/skirts/dresses
  • Charlwood Primary School jumper or cardigan

PE Kit

Our PE kit also needs to be consistent and should include the following:
  • Blue t-shirt with school logo only
  • Navy blue/black shorts ~ please make sure that your child has shorts and not just tracksuit bottoms)
  • Plimsolls
  • Trainers
  • Tracksuit bottoms ~ royal blue
  • School jumper or hoodie with school logo on
By having matching PE kit we will look smarter when attending the different sports events. Please can you make sure that the above PE kit and winter uniform is ready and named for September.

If your child takes part in a sport after school club please provide separate sportswear for the club as we have numerous problems this year with PE kits returning home after clubs and then not being back in school for PE lessons. Please also provide trainers as well as plimsolls as they provide better support outside in PE lessons.
School uniforms

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The department produces statutory guidance on the cost of school uniforms which schools must have regard to when developing and implementing their school uniform policy. This guidance requires schools to publish their uniform policy on their website.  The published uniform policy should be easy to understand and, where a school has a school uniform, should:
·         clearly state whether an item is optional or required
·         make clear if the item will only be worn at certain times of the year (for example, if it’s summer or winter            uniform)
·         make clear whether a generic item will be accepted or if a branded item is required
·         make clear whether an item can only be purchased from a specific retailer or if it can be purchased more            widely, including from second-hand retailers
