Spring Term 1:
This half term we have been learning about the Artic. We learnt the seven continents of the world and where Greenland is situated compared to the United Kingdom.
We compared Charlwood with Sissimuit in Greenland. We discussed the physical and human features and we compared the weather in both places. We learnt about some of the animals that live in the Artic region and how these animals are suited or adapted to living there and we compared these to British Wildlife.
We went on a class trip to the British Wildlife Centre, where we enjoyed seeing and learning about British animals and their habitats.

Autumn Term 2:
This half term we have been working really hard with Wren Class to create our Christmas performance of Hey Ewe Nativity. The children had to memorise their lines and cues to go on stage, as well as acting and singing.
In History we have been learning about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot.
We have also learnt how to write a letter to Father Christmas which we then posted in the local post box.
Year 2, also made a visit to St Bartholomew’s Church in Horley, to learn about the Christian meaning of Christmas, where we journeyed through the different parts of the nativity.
