Reading
All pupils are encouraged to read for 20 minutes every day. Please complete reading logs in homework diaries to help us monitor and track reading progress. Remember, pupils can also update their homework diary. It is helpful to make note of any tricky words or challenging areas when reading at home.
As pupils progress through their reading levels, they will be provided a reading passport to support them in reading a range of texts. The book chosen for their reading passport is their school reading book.
If a pupil is struggling to read their book do let us know and we can work with them to find a more appropriate reading book.
You will find an exciting list of recommended reading books for Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the documents below.

What a wild museum... fantastically creative habitats, examples of circles of life, bug hunt pictures and tally charts and even some real life animal fur or skins (which had been shed). We were captivated by videos that had been produced and voice recorded information - what creative ways to share interesting facts!
Woodpeckers have been extremely engaged throughout our Animal Atlas topic and it has been a delight to hear all of the interesting findings and facts as we have worked through our subjects. Well done, Woodpeckers!

Another fabulous show of homework for Woodpeckers covering all things water! We were extremely impressed with the level of commitment Woodpeckers have shown to their learning. We enjoyed learning lots of different pieces of information from the posters, videos, research and 3D models that were produced.
Woodpeckers enthusiastically and confidently spoke to pupils from other classes, teachers and staff in school and their parents about their homework and learning.
Well done to everyone! A truly wonderful display of learning.
