Curriculum Intent
The intent of our PSHE curriculum is to prepare our pupils for young adulthood. We use a progressive curriculum where pupils learn important life skills and knowledge to help them to live healthy and informed lives to impact positively on their intellectual, social, physical, mental, spiritual and cultural development.

This is taught through Personal, Social and Emotional Development in the Foundation Stage. In Key Stage 1 and 2 PSHE covers six areas:
At Charlwood School we use the PSHE Guidance from the PSHE Association. The association guidance focuses on 3 core areas:
This year our PTA have funded the Family Planning Association resource called Yasmine and Tom. This is used to support our PSHE lessons, including the sessions on Relationships and Sex Education.
Our PSHE lessons take place each week but themes and core learning can also be covered in assembly time and Big Think Time sessions.
Our school are members of the PSHE Association and follow their expertise and guidance. Please see link.

- Successful ~ in their relationships with others, understanding themselves and being able to problem solve all the challenges that life presents.
