At Charlwood Village Primary School we understand the importance that PE and sport plays in keeping us fit, healthy and ready to learn.
Our pupils take part in the daily physical activities such as a run and active breaks. We have several coaches enhancing PE and sport in our school through the delivery of bespoke sport and physical activity lessons and providing support and training for our teachers.
In addition to this, pupils in Year 4, 5 and 6 have the opportunity to be a part of Sports Crew as a Sports Leader. Pupils have to apply for this role and be interviewed for it. Once Sports Leaders have been appointed, they will attend specific leadership training with Active Surrey to develop their knowledge, understanding and leadership skills ready to deliver activities to other pupils throughout the year.

Sports Leaders meet weekly with Mrs Dance to complete tasks such as; session planning for bi-weekly Sports Crew activities, exploring new sports and physical activities we might want to introduce at CVPS, sports equipment audits, practicing leadership skills and working collaboratively to discuss ways of improving PE and sport. All Sports Crew activities aim to have a positive impact on our pupils' physical and mental wellbeing.
