Charlwood Village Infant School

Children take part in a range of sporting activities, both  indoors and outside, within school time including swimming. In the hall the children learn how to set out and work on the large gym apparatus safely as well as practising skills using smaller equipment. They may also use the hall for music and movement, drama and dancing. All indoor work is carried out in bare feet.

Outside there is a playground and field for larger games and activities when the weather permits.

Swimming

Dorking Swimming Centre is about 20 minutes away by coach. Children begin to learn to swim during the term following their fifth birthday, and are coached by qualified swimming instructors. Our aim is that by the time the children leave at the end of their Y2 year they will all be able to swim a minimum of 5 metres. In order to fund this activity, parents are asked to contribute.
